This opportunity is powered by the #BlackInterns Program which is a Black Professionals UK (BPU) initiative. 

We are creating internship opportunities for members of Black and other ethnic minority communities across the UK.  

Purpose of role 
This role will give an insight into BBC Sport Scotland Productions – across the platforms of TV, radio & digital content. It will provide an opportunity to hone their knowledge and skills within the BBC, a focus on radio production and the opportunity for technical, editorial and administrative development. 

Responsibilities  

  • To assist in the planning and production of radio sport content 
  • Suggest, develop and research ideas/stories and present these to producer/line manager for feedback and review.  
  • Support production team in a wide variety of tasks 
  • Assist with administrative tasks that are appropriate within sports production 

What we’re looking for 

Someone with a keen interest in sport – in particular football. A quick learner who can turn their hand to a variety of tasks. Ability to work solo on tasks but also within a team across productions. A willingness to learn and possess a real ‘can-do’ attitude.

REPORTING TO: Claire Kelly, Assistant Editor, BBC Sport Scotland  

Hours per week: 35  

Duration: 12 weeks  

Commencing: End January (or early February) 2026  

Remote/Office/Hybrid: Mostly office based at Glasgow Pacific Quay. A mixture of day/evening shifts will be required as per production requirements 

TRAINING BURSARY: £22,488 bursary gross per annum pro rata
