Internship Celebration at Brodies LLP

On Thursday, 16th November, we had the privilege of receiving support from Brodies LLP as we hosted the 2023 beneficiaries cohort of the #BlackScotInterns. Recognising the challenges faced by Black professionals launching their careers in Scotland, we extend our appreciation for the remarkable journeys they have undertaken. Our aim was to bring together interns to celebrate their achievements and provide opportunities for networking and continued career growth beyond the internship.

During the event, we shone a spotlight on five successful interns from this year: Naa Karley Addo of Pinsent Masons, Akinwale Fayemiro of BBC Scotland, Stanley Ehiemere of Tesco Bank, Carolyn McLaren of Brodies LLP, Kelechi Nwankpa of Amiqus. Each shared their experiences, highlighting the invaluable support received from our esteemed placement organisations. Many have secured permanent positions or made significant strides in their career paths.

At Black Professionals Scotland, we are committed to building a lasting legacy. The journey ahead is substantial, and we will persist in driving positive change within our capacity. Our heartfelt gratitude goes to all our partner organisations, especially for those who graced us with their presence at the event.

Special thanks to Magdalena Harcus, Graduate Recruitment officer at Pinsent Masons and Ashley McPartlin, Head of Inclusion & Diversity at Brodies LLP for sharing how this programme has benefitted your organisations — your support and allyship collectively contribute to shaping the future we all aspire for.

Looking forward, we are excited to announce the launch of the #BlackInterns and #BlackTalents programme in 2024. Whether you are interested in becoming an intern, a Black talent individual, or an employer seeking to get involved, we invite you to reach out to us by following the link below.
