Networking at Barclays Building

An evening of networking, positive conversations and collective reflection.

From the 8th floor of Barclays new campus building in Glasgow city centre, amidst the steady hum of conversation, good food and refreshing drinks, a dynamic and energetic group of people met to discuss actions that organisations have taken to increase fairness and equity in the workplace.

Karen Wallace. touched on many key action points, one of the key points noted was that it wasn't enough for policies to be ‘zero-tolerance' against racism behaviours, she challenged executives to create policies that are more proactively ‘Anti-Racist'

Viana Maya highlighted the importance of organisations moving away from solely diversity hire targets and focusing on starting to hire diverse people for their skills and values.

Mohammed Salihu talked about how we can Reflect, Relearn and Recreate from his poem titled ‘Rise like the sun!'

As the sun set on Glasgow city, linked profiles got shared, phone numbers exchanged and job opportunities emerged for some!

Thanks to Sam for hosting us last night, we look forward to our ‘Black Women Rock' event on July 29 with BPS partner, BlackRock
