Breaking down the barriers often encountered by individuals from Black and other ethnic minority backgrounds when seeking opportunities within the UK workforce.
The goal of the Black Intern Program is to ensure that individuals from all ethnic minority backgrounds, not just Black talent, have fair and equal access to career opportunities. By doing so, we aim to unlock potential, promote inclusion, and contribute to a stronger and more representative workforce across the country.
Why are we doing this?
Data from various sources UK-wide reveals that ethnic minority graduates often face significant challenges in the job market post-graduation. For instance, data from the Government Ethnicity Facts & Figures website shows:
of white people were in sustained employment
0%
of Indian graduates in sustained employment
0%
for Black African graduates in sustained employment
0%
How It Works
To design this programme, we have received support from various organisations including Skills Development Scotland and Inclusion Scotland. They have worked alongside our team by providing support, review and insight.
