How the BPU Apprenticeship Programme Works
The BPU Apprenticeship Programme is committed to supporting organisations in integrating talented ethnic minority candidates into their workforce. Our key objective is to empower young people from underrepresented communities, providing them with the tools, training, and opportunities to succeed professionally.
Programme Structure
Participants will undergo a structured apprenticeship, which includes:
On-the-job Training
Hands-on experience in the workplace.
Off-the-job Learning
Industry-focused training and workshops.
Support Network
Mentorship, coaching, and career guidance.
Employer Support
Employers are expected to provide comprehensive support to ensure a seamless apprenticeship experience. This includes:
- Onboarding Support: A structured onboarding and induction process to help the apprentices settle into the organisation properly.
- Training & Development: Access to training resources.
- Ongoing Mentorship: Dedicated mentors to coach, support and guide their development during the placement.
BPU Support
BPU will remain actively engaged throughout the apprenticeship and support your organisation every step of the way. Our support includes:
- Regular Check-ins: Scheduled progress reviews to ensure apprentices are meeting milestones and your expectations are being met.
- Support Sessions: We will provide Two one-hour support sessions for apprentices to empower them to make the most of the placement.
- Post-Placement Support: Guidance on potential permanent placement options or further training opportunities.
- Professional Development Resources: Access to employability sessions, CV reviews, and interview preparation, providing them with tools for continuous professional development.
