Purpose of the Role

The People Engagement (PE) Intern will work as part of the operations team to deliver all aspects of people engagement administration across all practice areas and business services teams.                  

The PE Intern role requires a strong blend of administrative and prioritisation skills, attention to detail and the ability to deliver to tight deadlines.            

This is an exciting and challenging role. We are looking for an individual who can work well within a team, is proactive, resilient, and committed to doing an excellent job. 

 Primary tasks: 

 Resourcing 

  • Add new vacancies to Applicant Tracking System as instructed by Resourcing Partners 
  • Assist the resourcing team in scheduling interviews by liaising with candidates and hiring managers to arrange suitable times. 
  • Manage and update interview calendars to prevent scheduling conflicts and ensure smooth coordination. 
  • Send out interview confirmations and reminders to candidates and interviewers, ensuring all necessary information is provided. 
  • Gather and organise feedback from interviewers’ post-interview to support the decision-making process. 

Mailbox Queries 

  • Regularly check and sort emails in the shared PE mailbox to ensure timely responses to queries. 
  • Provide accurate and prompt responses to general PE queries, escalating complex issues to senior team members as needed. 
  • Keep detailed records of all communications and ensure that any follow-up actions are documented and completed 

 Project Support 

  • Provide support for PE projects, including preparatory work for a new Human Resources Information System (HRIS), organisational chart creation and documenting retention policies. 
  • Assist with mapping current processes 

Person Specification & Skills: 

  •  Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. 
  • Strong interest in People Engagement (HR) and a desire to learn and grow in the field. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). 
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism. 
  • Detail-oriented and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

REPORTING TO:People Engagement Operations Manager  

Hours per week:  35 hours  

Duration: 8 weeks  

Commencing: 30 June 2025 

Remote/Office/Hybrid: Office – Edinburgh 

SALARY: £420.00 per week
