The UK Mortgage Specialist Team was created in April 2010 to focus on providing high value UK mortgages to new and existing high net worth and ultra high net worth clients. UK Mortgages have been earmarked as an important growth strategy for the Private Bank and the team is expected to grow in coming years. Business Management optimizes business performances by helping to drive key initiatives. We act as trusted advisors and counterweight to Business/Group Heads, and are responsible for identifying, escalating, and mitigating business risks.

As the Lead for the EMEA Mortgage Business Management team, you will be reporting to the Head of Global Mortgage Business Management and work very closely with the EMEA Head of Mortgage Solutions, driving priorities, managing risk and compliance of the Mortgage business, making sure the strategic mortgage roadmap is executed, overseeing and managing the business operations, including the creation of business plans, monitoring business metrics, preparing quantitative and qualitative analysis, and senior management presentations.

This is a time-pressured and high-profile position which is instrumental in assisting/advising senior management and in coordinating the deployment of the bank’s corporate resources to address strategic and tactical objectives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of business managers and ability to drive day to day priority
  • Complete strategic business reviews, represent business in respective internal / external working groups and forums, and present to senior management and key stakeholders
  • Perform end-to-end process reviews, including: business analysis, formulating recommendations and implementation
  • Coordinate compliance and regulatory reviews in the mortgage space and subsequent process re-engineering, including standard operating procedure development and internal policy review and adjustment
  • Contribute to Sales Management tasks and drive enhancements to sales management process
  • Coordinate project activities across organization and key stakeholders, including middle office operations, client service, technology, compliance, legal and finance
  • Monitor status of all projects of the team, help mitigate risk, escalate issues when necessary and manage stakeholder expectations

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • 5 to 8 years of experience within a financial institution or previous product knowledge and/or prior Business Management or COO experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or other related area
  • Highly motivated self-starter with excellent time management/prioritization skills with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously and work independently
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and accurately to differing audience
  • Able to forge strong internal relationships across a broad range of functions
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with ability to analyze large data sets or ambiguous problems and present conclusions concisely; possess high attention to details
  • Advanced working experience in MS PowerPoint; ability to create impactful presentations in clear and concise manner

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Familiarity with credit and lending / mortgage products
  • Strong experience in MS Excel, Visio
  • Familiarity with reporting tools, e.g. Tableau
